Christmas Jumper Day at Riverside

All at Riverside Nursing Home dived into full Christmas mode and participated in Christmas Jumper Day this Friday with our usual enthusiasm. Staff located their most festive garments and properly embraced the Christmas spirit. Jumpers featured Rudolph, snowmen, elves, snowflakes, penguins, and of course Santa Claus. This was a truly festive day with Christmas carols, fun games such as ‘Pass the Sprout’ and yummy Christmas themed treats. Residents really love Christmas, and applauded the efforts of the staff members. Christmas is a time for celebration and bringing people together. It is going to be an unfamiliar Christmas for most, but we hope through our actions we can make this Christmas just a little bit special for our residents.

My husband has been in Riverside Nursing Home in Sherborne for five months now. He took a few weeks to settle down in his new surroundings at first but now has got to know the Staff. The Nurses, Carers, the Chef, all have been so kind, respectful, most of all understanding the needs of not only the residents but their families. Only recently we enjoyed an outing to Weymouth organised by the Activities Co-ordinator. Matron Judith Maidment waved us off as our special coach left Riverside. Thank you all
